Ron Scott's Pantera #3641

This is my 5th year with #3641, a 1972 Pre-L manufactured in June 1972 in Modena, Italy. Please visit my Web site at www.azballistics.com and there is a Pantera link for detailed info.

I stored this car in a race trailer until relocating from Boston to Phoenix in 2002. Upon arrival the car was given to Les Gray, Mr. Pantera, for a complete renovation of structural systems which included replacement of the wheelhouse arches with stainless steel and total rebuild of the suspension. I kept adding additional work as different components were evaluated and it ended up being a 5 month project but the results of his work are evident. Les also broke the engine down so that I could confirm that the components were as advertised when I purchased the car When it was finished Les took me for my first ride in the car and I couldn't pull the seat belt tight enough as I held on for dear life. On the roads behind his shop I learned real fast that the speed limit sign on the hairpin turn which read 15 mph did not apply to a Pantera.

In March 2004 the car was dynoed on a Mustang Dyno at Chuck's Speed Shop with 350 hp measured at the rear wheels, which translates to about 450 hp at the engine.

Club member Dave Hocking modified the Hall Big Bore exhaust by cutting the mufflers off, flipping them upside down, then angle cutting the tips for a more European look.

I have put about 4,000 miles on the car in the last four years. I am also known as Mr. Slowpoke. With these wide open flat Arizona roads that you can see ahead for miles without a car in sight, I always drive under the speed limit and would never engage in, or promote, violating the traffic laws in any manner, shape or form. Well, there might be a few exceptions.
